Amid all the stunning American snare drums currently drifting into the shop, we’ve also been acquiring some non American vintage gems, such as this Trixon.
If you don’t know much about Trixon drums, they were made in Germany in the 1950’s & 1960’s and tend to be a little different to the other drums offered in those decades.
This particular snare drum is a bit of a head turner – in totally original condition (except the resonant head which has been replaced with a Remo diplomat) – in a stunning unfaded Gold Glitter. This could be the missing piece from your kit, or maybe you’re looking for a quirky snare that stands out from the crowd?
With its Parallel snare mechanism, allowing full contact of the wires over the width of the drum, this snare has great sensitivity, whilst also giving a really nice, strong back beat. We love it!
If you want to delve into the world of Trixon some more, then you could do worse than head over to my friend Ingo’s website Trixon Drums. Here you’ll find a full history of the drums and lots of other useful info too.
