Pearl Jupiter 6.5″

OK, so this vintage beauty has come into the shop so I thought I’d share…

In the mid 70’s Pearl introduced these Chrome on Brass (COB) Jupiter snare drum in both 5″ and 6.5″. Fitted with a parallel action snare strainer, the catalogue boasted that the drum ‘produces a top modern sound, with quick stick rebound’.

Rare to see a 6.5″ model, especially in this condition. This drum has some minor pitting to the chrome, mostly on the hoops; fitted with good heads and wires (which are now scarce) it tunes up nicely and gives a nice warm crack!
